Well, here it is - well kinda!! I've hooked up the blog facility for starters.

So hopefully bands/fans should be able to register and post some blogs/annoucements.

Extra bits will be added on a weekly basis, so hopefully it'll give reason for people to come back and look at the site.

The homepage is a bit "bland" at the moment, so, I'll get that sorted asap!

Band pages should be up and running pretty soonish. I have all the bits ready, I just want to release thing incremently so we have time to test each of the bits out.

New Bloggy thing is cool though!

Yep, not too painful was it. As you can see the blog posters comments get aligned to the right. So its more like a "conversation" thingy. Plus you can now directly link to a comment, if you click on the "#" thingy.

Just need to hook up the gig listings page before Wrecked and co get onto my back! lol

like the new log in? much easier. like ,also, the "community blog" saves searching long lists if one can think of something to contribute to an earlier blog? (:-> )also gives everyone the opportunity to join in. think, maybe, as a future facility, though, have it so profiles can have blogs open to blog owners friends only? have the option?

Yeah, plus with the new "tagging" system, you can filter the blogs. which reminds me, you need to add a tag to your other blog :-)

Added a "Site suggestions" tag, so you put your site suggestion blogs/thoughts in there.

great! i love messing about with (err- i mean finding out about) new stuff!!
think i'm getting my head round it? how about an extra category tag-we've got "rant"-how about one for "kudos"??? :-)
when do you think we'll have profile comments up and running?

hey wrecked-click on "change avatar" on profile-should take you to page saying "update avatar" and "browse" - click "browse"-goes to your pc-select picture from there (open) when showing in box next to "browse" click "upload"-that should do it. :-))

Ahh.. sorted it. Looks like you Beta testers came across the first bug! - Congrats!

Bands should be able to change their avatar. Just click on your username in the top menu banner.

oi!! leave us drummers alone!! it's been years since i was in a fish shop!! and that was only cause my ex wife told me i could get a fresh place there as she was throwing me out!!! doh!

Oh yeah - you might be wondering why my comments are a shade of green. Thats because I have administrator rights, and can delete comments, e.t.c

Also, if you are the original blog writer, and make a comment on your own blog, then your comment will appear in red. Nice touch! hey!

I'll be blogging about the new features in a mo.

As for the fish! - I wondered what that stink was.

Cheers for the postive feedback so far!! - Like I said, the blog is just a small part of the new NWB. The new profile pages should keep EVERYONE happy. Keep checking back every few days for new improvements e.t.c

Some of you may have seen a couple of new enhancements tonight already - If you look in the blog comments, it now says if the person is online or not under their avatar :-)

Also, when you post a comment, it no longer does a full postback of the page. So when you add a comment, theres no more jumping/scrolling about.

Also,.. when you click on a link in the LATEST COMMENTS box, it'll take you directly to the comment in the blog.

Just working on the profiles right now. As you probably know theres a heap of coding to get sorted, and graphics too. Hopefully I'll have some "simple" profiles up and about by wednesday. Then we can test/expand.

Yeah, lots of positive comments so far. Lots of new venues have signed up which werent on the old site. Hopefully whence the profiles are up things will make a lot more sense.

I'm in the process of inputting the venues right now! I think once that is done Paul will give everyone access to a full band/venue list like we had before :-)
