Hello NWB'ers. There's some new features to the site

1. The Who's on facility now gives an overview of the online users and what they are upto.

2. Bands can now upload their repertoire of songs to their profile. (This will be further enhanced in the future so bands can construct setlists and print them off ready for gigs)

3. Set list search is now available. I must admit this is a VERY handy features. It allows you to see what bands play in their set list. Fancy hearing some Hendrix tonight? do a search on "hendrix" and you'll get a list of bands which cover some hendrix classics. Excellent!!

4. Profile Search is now up and running

5. New Notifications section. You can now select if you want to receive an email notification when someone posts a comment on your blog.

6. Hot Blogs feature has been added. This gives the HOTTEST blogs (in terms of comment response) from the last 7 days.

Im off to drink lots of red wine now!! Tiz Friday afterall!

Soonish - Im still designing the MP3 player for it. Not sure whether to go FLASH, or SILVERLIGHT.

just what is silverlight, mr nwb? downloaded it a while back as a "microsoft update", but haven't a clue what it does? (just got confused with all the "techno-blurb" on the microsoft site!!)

Silverlight is the future dude. Basically its mircosofts answers to FLASH. NWB is coded in asp.net, and Silverlight can be coded via asp.net, so in theory would give greater integration of features.

Silverlight hasnt fully been released (still in beta), but Its going to be mega!! especially for NWB.

is that what i downloaded? came as a "kb" update end of feb-version 1.- something or other (i know-very high tech!!) used ie7 a few days ago, rather than aol-started initialising all sorts of files.my vid replay seems much better now, certainly load up much faster?
just been on microsoft website-there's a version 2.0 (beta) for optional download.
will i need to remove macromedia or will silverlight become the default application automatically?

I spot trouble .......

Dohhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have a "counterfeit" copy of Microsoft (had my PC built by a company and they obviously used a copy and now Microsoft keeps reminding me that I cant get updates !!!! arghhhhhhh) and cant get new downloads ......... would this mean that I could not get Silverlight on my PC Paul ???

Cheers

Nah, Silverlight is available for the masses (and is the main PLUS point of it, compatible across all operating systems and platforms) - i think I'll stick to a simple FLASH mp3 player,. then switch over to SILVERLIGHT once its gone alpha release (later this year)

NB: Silverlight 1.0 is out now,.. silverlight 2.0 is out later this year (the proper full version)

version 1.0 seems to working ok-if the graphics and features are as good as the microsoft "silverlight" pages show, it's going to be brilliant??!!

Is there any possibility of you putting something in to automatically list the songs in the repertoire alphabetically?

# Posted by mr.nwb - 22/04/2008, 12:15 (GMT)
Ahh, yeah, good point. I'll put some sorting links on so you can list alphabetically by Song title or Artist.
