Hayseed Dixies version of 'Breaking the Law'
Okay so they are a band not taking it too serious ( and they enjoy a good following), but this is almost as sacrilegious as Rolfs stairway
Was tempted to include any track from Queensryche Taking cover album, but they do grow on you after a few Jack Daniels lol

Don't know if this counts or not as it was actually released as a single. (thank god)
But or me, the absolute worst thing I have ever seen is "You shook me all night long" by Celine Dion and Anstacia.
Search for it on youtube...it's horrific LOL

Actually, "You Shook Me All Night Long" by Shania Twain might even beat that one in absolute awfulness...

IMHO....er no they are not.
I remember my mates brother getting very upset with me when I was roaring with laughing when he claimed that Noel was the best guitarist in the world.....in fact, it's nearly set me off again.

Patti Smiths god awful version of are you experienced.
Joining in on the Oasis stuff: The covers were bad, however the original stuff was not so original.

Arrrrgh_ reaches for a bottle of JD to take the memory of them away !!!

Noel Gallagher is not the best guitarist in the world= by no means-

However as a songwriter (who has been published) and who has very broad taste in music Oasis are the closest thing to the beatles this counrty has produced-

Every band has a song in their Arsenal that was copied- Oasis freely admit to it- Hell Oasis have been copied- Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day is a note for note chord structure arrangment copy of Wonderwall (which in itself is apparently ripped off from an old Bee Gees track!!)

The Beatles did it too- I feel fines riff is a direct copy- Blackbird is a classical guitar piece that they put words to (it is still Lennon and McCartney)

My Fav Band Kiss have never written an original song- ACDC have re written the same song 100s of times

Go out and buy the Masterplan album by Oasis then come and tell be Noel isn't brilliant-

I am biased- though and there is a very good reason for it AHHEM r kid!

fab eggs--oasis are, indeed, "grat"! gratutious to requirements that is!!we've already had a "beatles", with all the derivative drivel that copied them during the late sixties, driven by commercialism, do we really need another one? as for the beatles themselves??? not a patch on the rolling stones, and, yes, they, also, did do a bit of plagiarising!! to brilliant effect too, considering the ethos at the time they first started playing.
so, i'm afraid, "oasis" covers stay in nwb room 101, along with willian shatner and patti smith! :-/

Stones v Beatles is a daft debate- they are different totally- Stones developed into true rhythm and blues band- hardly ground breaking either- Beatles are on there own I love them both!

Kiss's cover of the Stones 2000 man was Ace (ha ha in joke there do you get it!!)

mmmm! perhaps. however-at the time it seemed one subscribed to one of two camps-either caught up in the (undoubted) hysteria generated by the beatles publicity machine, generally aimed at young girls, along with such "classic" bands as "herman and the hermits" or "freddie and the dreamers", who, don't get me wrong, had a place in the music scene at the time, but could, surely, never seriously, be considered to contributing to the musical database? or, the only widely available alternative at the time, the likes of the stones, as you say, continuing the tradition of r&b, the yardbirds, small faces and others, who played music rooted in the r&r and blues based genre , enhanced with a contemporary edge. i think it's fair to say, the stones raised issues through their songs (sex/angst/establishment) that the beatles tended to shy away from, concentrating instead on the "romanticised" view of life through their music? so-question remains-do we really NEED another beatles? i think not!! :-))
oh! and "kiss/stones/ace"???? groannnnn!! :-)))

Oasis are good, but we mostly only hear the singles that the record company release. I've got a few of their albums and there are great tracks on them that you won't get ont radio. Most bands sound a bit like or are influenced by other bands too. Back to blog subject, worst cover i can think of is 'spirit in the sky' by gareth gates(i think), also one of them x factor types did 'light my fire' which was pretty terrible
