Had mad week of concerts - why do they come along at the same time?? Skint now!!

Anyone go along? - share reviews on performance / production / cost of tickets......

Qr at Academy - £25 - 3hr 15min show (with interval) MC 1 & 2 with encore from Empire - great performance (MC2 beyond me though - why??)

Journey at Apollo - £45 - John Parr opens for them - the best a man can get?? - titters a plenty - Journey debut new Perry clone - Arnel Pineda - great voice, great band (lifelong fan) just sommat missing tho.......

WS & DL at Arena - £45 - Black Stone Cherry open - great live rockin band - WS take to stage - DC strugglin with mid hi notes - more effects than a Spielberg movie - great sound, great show - prefer them at Apollo though......

Def Lep - slick production (click tracks anyone?) great show, cool production, mint video graphics - kudos to the lampy for getting the DMX desk back on (it blew up, apparently)

Any comments peeps???

Hi Gordon, yep went to Whitesnake and Def Leppard

Whitesnake were brill as always, new album is very good, buy it if you already havent, good to see Reb Beach getting pushes forward more Doug is great but Reb is just as an incredible guitarist if not better, good set list enjoyed the acoustic interludes they did as well, still didnt play Sailing Ships yet though :-(

Def leppard started a little patchy but once they did Bringin On The Heartbreak after that it was wall to wall hits and amazing always told my lady she should see em live cos they are great, although Jane commented that Whitesnake are a lot better looking, what about the music Mrs ? ha ha what are they like other halves :-)

wouldnt have minded Journey and Queensryche as well, although i SHOULD have gone to see John Fogerty on Sunday

My mate had backstage passes for QR at Glasgow and he said the place went mental during OM1, but the whole atmosphere died during OM2. By the time they came on to do the Empire songs, a lot of people had left and the rest were trying to come out of the Coma OM2 put them in.

I would only ever go to watch QR if DeGarmo came back and they only played their music up to and including Empire.

As for DL and Whitesnake, seen DL on the Adrenalize tour and thought they were ok, and I seen Whitesnake a few years later and thought that Coverdale looked like a sad old man on stage. From what I heard, he still does and just can't hack it live anymore.

Is Neal Schon back with Journey? Very very good guitarist. Seen him supporting Extreme many moons ago with his very underated band Hardline about 15 years ago. (Showing my age now)

As for prices........don't even go there.
Cost me £110 to take my son to see the Foo Fighters at Manc Stadium, and whilst it was a great gig, £110 is extortionate.
