Hi Drum bloke,Do what l do take off the plastic ends carefully cut to size with a hacksaw,re fit plastic ends and bingo 2 short tom arms at no cost!!!!!!!!! they are damned expensive to buy cheers (nick drums)

Yes cheers Nick. mmmm....I have considered this as a possibility. Just thought a quick swap would save me attempting some butchery. The one's I have are the older unilock without end caps so would need decent cutting gear and a bit of filing after. How did you manage it? Hacksaw ?

If the pipes are chromed then the chroming will split and then it can look messy, not to say that that you can't do it.The chroming can if you get it in your skin poison you, very rare but it can happen so watch your fingers ,but the best way would be to use a plumbers pipecutter it will cut neat and leave a chamfered end that shouldn't need dressing up..

Hi guys,Yes the pipe cutter would do a good job,l did fine with a hack saw but having the plastic ends does help to conceal any rough bits,as for being poisoned,l think my alcohol intake is doing that job !!!!!!!!!! cheers nick

It will cope with steel but keep the tension off slightly and do a few more turns and it wil cut nice.......alcohol is the cure for the poison lol....regards Rod.
